Administrative
Office:
As the arena in which clients and visitors are received,
the administrative office area is the initial contact between the
community and the Animal Diagnostic Laboratory. It is here that a
submitter may give a case history to a diagnostician, have an inquiry
responded to or referred, leave a sample for testing or meet with
a laboratory employee. Interaction with clients and other laboratories
can be in person or by telephone; test results are available, information
distributed and accounts processed. Reports are printed and faxed
or mailed.
A major function
of the administrative section of the laboratory is to provide friendly
and effective interoffice support. The resident director is routinely
available for input and decisions relating to human resources and
laboratory protocol as well as to diagnostic procedures. Staff support
positions provide clerical, procurement and informational backup
for lab personnel and clients.
